Ouray County Alpine Artist Holiday is the longest running juried art show in Western Colorado. With a following of about 1500 people each year, this nine day exhibit has gained the reputation of being one of the finest art shows in Colorado. All works are available for sale to the public.
I entered the show this year because Carl Purcell, National Watercolor Society signature member and international painting instructor was the juror. At the time I took Carl’s workshop, I was a struggling watercolorist. I wanted to see how my work would measure in his standards. I entered three paintings. All three paintings were juried into the show, with Carl awarding “Hot Shoe” an Honorable Mention. To learn more about the show, visit http://www.ourayarts.org
